Water Bills
The water for Seminole Estates is provided by Tualatin Valley Water District and the sewage is handled by Clean Water Services. The former enter the Park through one master meter billed to Commonwealth. Legislation was passed by Oregon over a decade ago that meters serving housing of over 100 units were required to have submeters for each individual dwelling to encourage conservation of water by individuals. The landlord/property managers were permitted to recover actual cost and fees associated with this capital improvement. In the fall of 2016 Commonwealth contracted with Jet Industries to install individual meters for each Seminole unit and separate meters for the pool, clubhouse, and common areas within the Park. At the outset we received a reduction in rent, $63.85/mo, seeing we were now covering expense previously paid by landlord.
Each individual meter has an electronic reader which continuously signals current information to Jet Industries to accumulate the usage information and forwards it to Commonwealth, who passes it along as a charge on your monthly rent statement which is broken out on your rent statement.
